Circuit breakers

xEffect FRCmM Type F residual current circuit breaker

Eaton offers a complete range of compact residual current devices for fault current/residual current and additional protection. Type F is a special variant of type A with altered frequency characteristics. The Type F RCD complies with IEC/EN 62423 and provides safe and reliable protection against sinusoidal residual currents and pulsating DC fault currents. It is also capable of handling residual currents with mixed frequencies of up to 1 kHz (10, 50, 1000 Hz) as defined with the IEC/EN 62423

Available as short time delayed and selective types
Suitable for modern applications
Type F for exceptional reliability

Core features

  • Residual current devices suitable for standard busbar connection to other xEffect devices
  • Twin-purpose terminal (lift/open-mouthed)
  • Universal tripping signal (red-green) switch, for FAZ, FRBmM-1N, auxiliary switch Z-HK can be mounted subsequently
  • Delayed types suitable for standard fluorescent tubes with/without electronical ballast (30mA: 30 units per phase conductor, 100m: 90 units per phase conductor)
  • The device functions irrespective of the position of installation
  • Tripping is line voltage-independent. Consequently, the RCD is suitable for “fault current/residual current protection” and “additional protection” within the meaning of the applicable installation rules.
  • Mains connection at either side
  • The 4-pole device can also be used for 2- or 3-pole connection.
  • Type -F: Increased protection in applications with 1-phase frequency, higher load rating with DC residual currents up to 10 mA.

Reliable protection for machines

These products provide an optimal system and additional protection against residual earth leakage currents for a wide range of applications. They come with different tripping characteristics to cater for a variety of electrical systems and components. The devices offer a wide range of nominal currents and comprehensive optional accessories.
Type F residual current devices offer the following benefits:

Designed for industrial use

Eaton's residual current circuit breakers are designed for industrial use with the xEffect series. This series covers the full spectrum of industrial and advanced commercial applications.
safe and reliable protection against sinusoidal residual currents and pulsating DC fault currents

Sensitivity Type F

These types are capable of sensing pulsating residual currents and are not negatively affected by a DC overlay of up to 10mA .
These devices (depending on the range) are also available as:
  • G/F short time delayed devices which are surge current proof up to 3kA. These devices enable a reliable and safe installation with increased system availability.
  • S/F selective RCCBs with improved surge current capabilities up to 5kA . These devices are selective (conditions apply) to other RCDs and enable special applications and root installations .

Maximum safety in railway applications

The xEffect range of protective switchgear also ensures highest standards of safety in railway applications. Thanks to compliance with specific standards such as IEC 61373 (Rolling stock equipment – Shock and vibration) and EN 45545-2 (fire protection of railway vehicles), the devices provide maximum safety and performance in rolling stock applications. In addition to standard switchgear, we also offer a wide range of MCBs and RCDs for the connection of ring cable lugs in railway applications.
