Surge protection

SPPVT2/T12 xPole Surge Protection

The plug-in surge arresters SPPVT2 and SPPVT12 are developed especially for photovoltaic applications. They protect the installations against transient overvoltages that can be induced by direct or indirect lightning strikes. SPPVT12: Homes with rooftop solar PV installations represent an additional vulnerability that requires surge protection. Usually this requires Type 1/2 combinations, for DC protection - based on whether the building has also a requirement for an external lightning protection system. SPPVT2: Type 2 PV surge protection is required, when there is no risk for direct lightning strikes but indirect surges can occur. SPPVT2 protects the inverter and installations against transient overvoltage due to switching and indirect lightning strikes. SPPVT12 is developed especially for photovoltaic applications and protects the installations against transient overvoltages induced by direct lightning strikes. These surge arresters are suitable for a wide range of surge protection in a large number of systems.
