Eaton’s heavy-duty safety switches with enhanced visible blade provide a highly visible means of disconnect to help improve personnel safety and equipment protection. Additionally, they’re ideal for applications where reliable performance, safety and service continuity are critical. Safety switches with enhanced visible blade are available in standard switch construction (with solid front door) or with an optional viewing window (as shown here).

Blade visibility

  • Enhanced visible blade can be included in a standard heavy-duty safety switch (with solid front door); requires catalogue suffix 'V'
  • Switches with optional viewing window incorporate enhanced visible blade as a standard feature
  • Enables personnel to clearly see that blades are disengaged from stationary contacts when the switch handle is in the OFF position
  • Provides increased visibility over each pole, allowing users to clearly see the trailing edge of the blade
  • Updated arc shield’s yellow colour creates greater contrast between blades and arc shield
  • Provides clear path to view switch base and current carrying blades with viewing window
  • Available in 30–1200A ratings
  • NEMA 1, 3R, 12, 4 and 4X enclosures for robust environmental protection
  • All standard heavy duty safety switches with viewing windows will be upgraded to include the visible blade components as standard – and window switches will be getting a new external, replaceable design
  • CSA certified
  • Suitable for service entrance application when equipped with factory installed neutral assembly
