xEffect FRCmM Type F residual current circuit breaker

The xEffect Type F residual current circuit breaker is a special variant of the Type A breaker with modified frequency characteristics. The Type F RCD complies with IEC/EN 62423 and provides safe and reliable protection against sinusoidal residual currents and pulsating DC fault currents. It can also handle residual currents with mixed frequencies of up to 1 kHz (10, 50, 1,000 Hz) as per IEC/EN 62423.

Pääominaisuudet

  • Detection of mixed frequencies for increased protection in applications with 1-phase frequency converters
  • Reduction of nuisance tripping thanks to
    - time-delayed tripping
    - increased current withstand capability > 3 kA
  • Higher load rating for DC residual currents up to 10 mA
  • For fault current/residual current protection and additional protection
  • Wide range of nominal currents
  • Comprehensive range of accessories
  • Contact position indicator
  • Fault current tripping indicator
  • Transparent designation plate
  • Residual current devices
  • Compatible with the other devices from the xEffect series, which can be connected by means of a standard busbar
  • Twin-purpose terminal (lift/open-mouthed) at top and bottom
  • Can be positioned on busbar at top or bottom
  • Free terminal space despite installed busbar
  • FRBmM-1N universal tripping signal switch (also suitable for FAZ) can be retrofitted
  • Z-HK auxiliary switch can be retrofitted
  • Contact position indicator red - green
  • Time-delayed types suitable for use with standard fluorescent lamps, with or without electronic ballast (30mA-RCD: 30 units per phase conductor; 100mARCD: 90 units per phase conductor)
  • The installation position does not affect the functioning of the device
  • Since tripping does not depend on the mains voltage, this RCD is suitable for “fault current/residual current protection” as well as “additional protection” within the meaning of the applicable standards
  • Mains connection at either side
  • The 4-pole device can also be used for 2- or 3-pole connections
  • Type F: Increased protection in applications with 1-phase frequency converters; higher load rating with DC residual currents up to 10 mA
  • Increased protection in applications with 1-phase frequency converters thanks to the detection of mixed frequencies

Why should you consider using Type F?

If you answer at least one of the following questions with “yes” you should consider using a Type FRCD:

  1. Your load profile consists of electronical loads such as power supply units?

  2. Various electronical loads are connected to one main RCD?

  3. A single-phase frequency drive needs protection?

  4. A reliable electrical system is crucial for your application?

  5. Outages due to unjustified tripping events mean a net loss for you?

Type F is the device you should choose if system availability and high level of safety is something you care about and which is crucial for your application.

Sensitivity Type F

These types are capable of sensing pulsating residual currents and are not negatively affected by a DC overlay of up to 10mA . These devices (depending on the range) are also available as: - G/F short time delayed devices which are surge current proof up to 3kA. These devices enable a reliable and safe installation with increased system availability - S/F selective RCCBs with improved surge current capabilities up to 5kA. These devices are selective (conditions apply) to other RCDs and enable special applications and root installations.

Maximum safety in railway applications

The xEffect range of protective switchgear also ensures highest standards of safety in railway applications. Thanks to compliance with specific standards such as IEC 61373 (Rolling stock equipment – Shock and vibration) and EN 45545-2 (fire protection of railway vehicles), the devices provide maximum safety and performance in rolling stock applications. In addition to standard switchgear, we also offer a wide range of MCBs and RCDs for the connection of ring cable lugs in railway applications.
