PLZ6/M xPole Miniature Circuit Breaker

The 1+N pole PLZ6 and PLZM miniature circuit breakers are protective devices that are equipped with both a thermal and an electromagnetic release. They are compatible with AC and DC applications up to 48 V with rated currents from 0.16 A to 63 A and are available with tripping characteristics B, C and D. The switching capacity of the PLZ6 is 6 kA and that of the PLZM is 10 kA.

The most commonly used type of overcurrent protection device

MCBs protect cables against damage due to overload and short circuits: In the event of dangerously high currents, the circuit breaker’s bimetallic thermal release will disconnect the power supply. In the event of a short circuit, the electromagnetic release will disconnect the power supply in a timely manner.

A design that is standard-compliant and quality-tested

Eaton’s PLZ6 and PLZM miniature circuit breakers are type-tested and approved according to 60898-1 (VDE 0641-11). Part 1 of IEC/EN 60898 applies to AC MCBs if the rated voltage between the phases does not exceed 440 V, the rated current does not exceed 125 A and the rated breaking capacity does not exceed 25,000 A.

The right MCB for every application

Circuit breakers with tripping characteristic B are the standard MCB type used for lighting and socket circuits. For circuits with high peak currents (such as motor circuits) devices with tripping characteristic C are used. Circuit breakers with tripping characteristic D are used for circuits with inductive and capacitive loads, such as solenoid valves, transformers or motors.
