FAZ-NA xEffect miniature circuit breaker

The FAZ-NA / FAZ-RT miniature circuit breaker is a protective device equipped with both a thermal and an electromagnetic release that is available in 1-, 2-, 3- and 4- pole versions. The FAZ-NA is available with rated currents of 0.5 A to 63 A. The switching capacity is 15 kA according to IEC/EN 60947-2, and 10 kA or 14 kA according to UL 489/CSA C22.2 No. 5, depending on the device type.

Reliable cable protection

MCBs protect cables against damage due to overload and short circuits: In the event of dangerously high currents, the circuit breaker’s bimetallic thermal release will disconnect the power supply. In the event of a short circuit, the electromagnetic release will disconnect the power supply in a timely manner.

A design that is standard-compliant and quality-tested

IEC/EN 60947-2 (VDE 0660-101) applies to circuit breakers in circuits with rated voltages up to 1,000 V AC, or up to 1,500 V DC. UL 489 and CSA-C22.2 No. 5 prescribe much larger clearances and creepage distances than the IEC standard. The FAZ-NA MCBs are also suitable for applications that fall within the scope of UL 1077/CSA C22.2 No. 235.

The right MCB for every situation

Circuit breakers with tripping characteristic B are the standard MCB type used for lighting and socket circuits. For circuits with high inrush and peak currents (e.g. motors and luminaire banks) devices with tripping characteristic C are used. Circuit breakers with tripping characteristic D are used for inductive and capacitive loads (solenoid valves, transformers etc.).

Maximum safety in railway applications

The xEffect range of protective switchgear also ensures the highest safety standards in railway applications. Thanks to compliance with specific standards such as IEC 61373 (Rolling stock equipment – Shock and vibration) and EN 45545-2 (fire protection of railway vehicles), the devices provide maximum safety and performance in rolling stock applications. In addition to standard switchgear, we also offer a wide range of MCBs and RCDs for the connection of ring cable lugs in railway applications.
