xPole Combined RCD/MCB Device PKNM, 1+N-pole

This residual current operated circuit breaker with integrated overcurrent protection in 1+N pole is a high-quality residual current circuit breaker and miniature circuit breaker combination.

This RCD/MCB combination PKNM switch is not only available as an AC and pulse current sensitive "standard type" A, but also as a mixing frequency sensitive type F, as a type G or G/A triggering with a time delay of at least 10 ms. While the AC and the A are only impulse current resistant up to 250 A, the other three types F, G and G/A offer an increased impulse current resistance of more than 3 kA.

Rated currents
up to 40 A
compliant to
IEC/EN 61009
Rated breaking capacity
6 kA or 10 kA

Core features

  • High-quality combined RCD/MCB device
  • Line voltage-independent tripping
  • Contact position indicator red – green
  • Wide variety of rated tripping currents
  • Rated currents up to 40 A
  • Tripping characteristics B, C
  • Rated breaking capacity
    • 10 kA (PKNM)

PKNM:

  • Higher resistance to nuisance tripping (type F, G or G/A) due to
time delayed tripping and increased current withstand capability > 3 kA
  • Also available in 110 VAC version!

Line- and residual current protection

Eaton's high quality standard guarantees comprehensive personal- and equipment protection by combining the functionalities of a residual current circuit breaker with those of a miniature circuit breaker. Spend less time and effort wiring while still protecting the system against overload, short circuit and residual current. Using Eaton's line of RCBOs, your electrical system will increase in safety and reliability.

Suitable types for all contingencies

  • Type -A: Protects against special forms of residual pulsating DC which have not been smoothed.
  • Typ -G: 10 ms time delay in order to avoid unwanted tripping (e.g. during thunderstorms).
  • Type AC: This type only detects pure sinusoidal AC residual currents.
  • Type -F (PKNM): Increased protection in applications with 1-phase frequency converter due to the detection of mixed frequencies, higher load capacity with smooth DC fault currents up to 10 mA.

IEC Standard quality design

The RCBO line adheres to the IEC standard of IEC/EN 61009 – an IEC region as well as European standard for RCDs with integrated overcurrent protection (RCBOs). This applies to both the line voltage-independent and line voltage-dependent RCDs/MCBs with rated currents up to 125 A for fixed installations.

All requirements of IEC/EN 61009 are 100 % fulfilled by Eaton's RCBO line. All required standards are printed on the devices.
