Ignited Innovators of India

For the last 10 years Eaton has been providing mentorship, funding and networking support to the participants of the Ignited Innovators of India (I2I) program – a platform to encourage students from engineering colleges across India to become innovative social entrepreneurs by helping them implement projects that focus on driving social and environmental improvement through technology. The program concluded a successful 10th year recently with over 50+ colleges across India participating in the program.

Instituted by the Bhau Institute of Innovation Entrepreneurship & Leadership (BIEL) and College of Engineering Pune (COEP) in association with Eaton, Ignited Innovators of India (i2i) is a program aimed at providing a platform to students who are keen to become social entrepreneurs and intend to bring in a small but significant change in the world around them. The program has now grown into a social movement impacting many lives across the state of Maharashtra and beyond.

I2I is a rewarding platform for Eaton to reach out to the young ignited minds and reiterate its 100+ years of commitment to fostering the spirit of innovation, entrepreneurship, and leadership among them.  Over the last 10 years, I2I has seen close to 10000+ participants who have worked on over 2000+ projects. Throughout its association with the program, Eaton employees have mentored students and Eaton in India has provided significant funding support to inspire engineering students to shape their ideas and implement solutions through sustainable technological innovations.

Eaton is proud to be associated with this program and contribute to inspiring engineering students to shape their ideas and implement solutions through sustainable technology innovations.

How the Program Works

This event is open to over 70+ colleges across cities in Maharashtra. Participants need to send in their ideas related to social entrepreneurship which are then evaluated by our panel.  The ideas and projects can be based on any of the sectors - Technology, 3H –Health, Humanity, and Hunger, Education, Agriculture, and Environment.

Through multiple rounds of evaluations, the teams reaching the semi-final round are then mentored by Eaton employees throughout their project. Eaton provides financial backup to the top 50 projects and helps the teams in implementing them.  I2I receives a huge response from students each year and is one of the major University engagement events for Eaton in India. It not only gives an opportunity to young minds to showcase their talent and innovative ideas, but also provides Eaton employees (known as i2i Ambassadors) a chance to interact and guide the young talent.
