xPole Combined RCD/MCB Device PFL4, 1+N-pole

This PFL4 is a line voltage-independent electromechanical residual current protection unit with integrated overcurrent protection. This combined RCD/MCB device in 1+N-pole is not only available as AC and pulse current sensitive "standard type A", but also as type G with a time delay of at least 10 ms and as AC.

While the AC and the A are only impulse current resistant up to 250 A, the type G offers an increased impulse current resistance of more than 3 kA. This makes it the ideal choice when false tripping must be avoided.

This product has been discontinued and is no longer available.

Rated currents
up to 40 A
Available as
standard type and type G
Rated breaking capacity
4.5 kA

Core features

  • High-quality combined RCD/MCB device
  • Line voltage-independent tripping
  • Higher trip fault resistance (type G) thanks to delayed tripping and increased current resistance > 3 kA
  • Red/green contact position indicator
  • Rated currents up to 40 A
  • Tripping characteristics: B, C
  • Rated breaking capacity: 4.5 kA
  • Twin-purpose terminal (lift/open-mouthed) above and below
  • Busbar can be positioned above or below
  • Free terminal space even with busbar installed
  • Guide for secure terminal connection
  • 3-position DIN-rail clip for easy removal from busbar systems
  • Comprehensive range of accessories, can also be retrofitted

The right RCD/MCB type for every need

  • Type -A: Ideal for standard applications. Protection against special forms of residual pulsating DC currents that have not been smoothed.
  • Type -G: 10 ms delay in order to avoid unwanted tripping (e.g. during thunderstorms).
  • Type -AC: This type only detects pure sinusoidal AC residual currents.

All in one device

Our high quality standards ensure comprehensive protection of personnel and equipment by combining the functionalities of a residual current circuit breaker with those of a miniature circuit breaker. This means spending less time and effort on wiring while still protecting the system against overload, short circuits and residual currents. Using Eaton's line of RCBOs will increase the safety and reliability of your electrical system.

Designed to IEC standards

Our RCBO line complies with the IEC/EN 61009 standard for RCDs with integrated overcurrent protection (RCBOs). This applies to both our line voltage-independent and our line voltage-dependent RCDs/MCBs with rated currents up to 125 A for fixed installations.
Our RCBOs meet all the requirements of IEC/EN 61009. All required standards are printed on the devices.
