Eaton’s mobile aircrew restraint system (MARS) prevents highly mobile aircrew from being ejected during a crash event, hard landing, or rough weather when working near open aircraft doors across a variety of missions. The MARS easily adapts to existing harnesses or belts and includes an inertia reel system with dual-mode locking capability mounted to the ceiling of the aircraft. The system allows for greater movement throughout cabin and ramp area, reduces trip hazards and significantly increases mission effectiveness and occupant safety and survivability. Other benefits include single handed operation, self-adjusting webbing length, eliminated webbing slack, and an automatic lock within one inch of webbing displacement.
The integrated mobile aircrew restraint system (IMARS) utilizes a track and trolley system and can be fixed to multiple set positions along the track providing a greater range of mobility throughout larger airframe cabins.
