Eaton PDI TFA Static Transfer Switch

The PDI TFA Static Transfer Switch ensures maximum power availability and reliability for mission-critical loads by seamlessly transferring between two independent power inputs. Available in sizes from 250A to 1200A, it features patented transfer algorithms, a 2 million hour mean time between failure (MTBF), dual redundant operator interfaces, flash memory firmware updates and hot-swappable control logic components. Its innovative true front access enclosure allows for easy installation, service, maintenance and IR scanning from the front.

Adaptable for both primary (480V) and secondary (208V) topologies, the PDI TFA STS simplifies installation with a common power and controls pass-through. It monitors power quality in real-time and enhances worker safety with compartmentalized sections to reduce arc flash risk. The adaptable entry/exit options for power and communications make it suitable for various mission-critical facilities, ultimately achieving the lowest total cost of ownership.

Line and match with PDI PDUs

  • The PDI TFA STS is adaptable for primary (480V) and secondary (208V) topologies by utilizing a common power and controls pass through on the PDI STS and PDU enclosures, simplifying installation.

Compartmentalized TFA

  • True front access enclosure with separate compartments enable installation, service, maintenance and IR scanning from the front of the unit.

100% rated fuseless design

  • Fuses aren’t needed because of the high short circuit current rating of the hockey puck style SCRs (thyristors).

Intelligent monitoring 

  • Status, alarm and power data can be communicated via modbus TCP/IP, modbus RTU and SNMP protocols. Primary or secondary systems PDU downstream branch circuit power data can also be integrated through the PDI TFA STS.
