So when a Midwest mine turned to Becker to build underground power centers to support their new conveyor system, Becker turned to Eaton.
Becker was awarded a contract to support an expansion project for a mine in the American Midwest, which involved building underground power centers and a longwall electrical system. The operation, expected to produce more than five million tons of coal annually, required superior equipment protection to help reduce costly downtime and maximize machine productivity.
To meet the needs of the project, Becker required a compact circuit protection solution for its customized underground power centers. The breakers needed to support operation of the mine’s conveyance systems, which help transport coal from the underground operation to the mine’s surface. The customized design called for incredibly compact circuit protection—small enough to fit requirements, but durable and capable enough to protect the equipment and the operation.
Eaton’s advanced technology came through for Becker once again. Our W-VACiMB medium voltage vacuum circuit breakers exceeded their expectations for size and safety.
