One of the questions we of course get a lot of is, where can I find more information about harmonics. If you're looking for information on harmonics, I'll show you a couple different locations that you can find it on the internet on YouTube.
We have some technical papers on our Eaton websites to guide you through. Let's take a look. If we start on Eaton's harmonics website, this is what you see. On this website you can scroll through and see a lot of good information starting with the basics of harmonics, a harmonics calculator, a little bit on analysis, some of the financial information around harmonics and a few Ask the Experts videos.
In addition, there's a technical paper that we're going to talk about in a little bit that you can download here. It is titled, Harmonic Solutions Explained. Finally, there are a few videos on the website that link back to our Experience Center website, as well as the FAQs that we're talking about.
The next thing we want to talk about is the Experience Center website. A little way down the page, you will see the blue button that says, "visit our video library". In the Experience Center video library you can see a whole bunch of different videos that are linked to power systems and power quality. Under the power quality tab there are several videos on harmonics, for example what's a var-reactive power and how does that relate to harmonics in terms of resonance. Here’s one on harmonic resonance explained. and just one on power quality case studies, which we talk about. Some of the FAQs are here, and we talk about case studies related to harmonics. There's also just a general video on harmonics, but there's also a lot of other videos on other power quality topics that might be of interest to you.
Next you may want to go to YouTube and go to the Eaton channel on YouTube, Eaton videos. There are two playlists there that I'll reference here. Under those playlists, if you just click on playlist you'll end up with this location. If you go to the harmonic’s playlist or the one just to the right of that, which is the experience center playlist, those are the same videos that we just talked about.
Let's click on the harmonics FAQ list under the playlist on the YouTube channel. Now we have these listed in an order and we put a number on there just so you can reference back but there's not really a specific reason why we put the numbers on them. The more common questions that are asked, tend to be the low numbers. We encourage you to go to these locations and find that information
The next thing I'm going to talk about though is this technical paper. You can go to the harmonics website, eaton.com/harmonics to download it. This technical paper that we put together is called Harmonic Solutions Explained. Some of the information in it includes IEEE 519 and harmonic symptoms sources and solutions. There are solutions for an individual drive for example and there are system solutions. It talks also at the end of the paper about how to apply those solutions and what the economics are. It covers both the technical and economic considerations when you're applying harmonic solutions.
Finally, I'll just mention that there's nothing like experiencing harmonics for yourself. If you can come to the experience center. You can learn about harmonics, see the waveform, see how that works. It's a great opportunity to really visualize and understand harmonics. Or, if you get the opportunity to go out in the field with somebody you know or yourself and do measurements, that's going to tie it all together for you. Those are the ways that i would encourage you to learn about harmonics.
