Reimagined ground fault trip protection

The innovative redesign of Eaton’s BR two-pole ground fault circuit breaker significantly reduces ground fault tripping while enabling faster troubleshooting and resolution of issues.

New digital GFCI protection advances safety, reliability for residential and light commercial 240 V applications

Eaton’s BR two-pole ground fault circuit breaker redesign introduces a new approach to ground fault protection that greatly decreases tripping events, making it ideal for variable frequency drives (VFDs) and 240 V equipment. The microprocessor-based design makes decisions about leakage and responds appropriately in milliseconds, providing time for the circuit breaker to disregard transient conditions that could lead to unwanted tripping. In addition, troubleshooting is faster and more accurate with the addition of 12 new trip code notifications.

Diagnose and resolve tripping events faster

Eaton's BR two-pole ground fault circuit breaker relies on 12 new trip code notifications to improve the accuracy of trip diagnosis, aid troubleshooting efforts during maintenance and enable prompt resolution of issues. With specific indicators and improved diagnostic capabilities, the codes enable the pinpointing of complex occurrences and overloads for quick identification of error conditions including hardware and microprocessor malfunctions, as well as power quality issues such as over-voltage, over-current and ground fault issues.

Reduce costs with more efficient bill of materials

Eaton’s BR two-pole ground fault circuit breaker boasts an improved series rating, offering additional combinations up to 60 A. And with higher interrupts and #3AWG lugs that reduce wiring costs, the circuit breaker allows for more cost-efficient project bills of material, most notably for multi-family jobs.

Ensure NEC code compliance for GFCI protection

The BR two-pole ground fault circuit breaker is an ideal solution to satisfy ongoing and expanding NEC requirements for ground-fault circuit-interrupter (GFCI) protection, including the increase of amp protection ratings across all receptacle outlets, both indoor and outdoor, wherever GFCI protection is required. In an effort to reduce the dangers associated with electrical hazard and shock, the NEC continues to broaden its scope of branch circuit requirements, with recent additions now mandating GFCIs in kitchens, laundry areas, basements, garages, outdoor outlets, and any areas with sinks or other damp or wet locations.
