xEffect Combined RCD/MCB Device, FRBm6/M, 1+N, 2, 3 and 3+N-pole

This residual current operated circuit breaker with integrated overcurrent protection is a high-quality residual current circuit breaker and miniature circuit breaker combination with line voltage-independent tripping and a wide variety of rated tripping currents. 

A tripping by a fault current is signalled by the blue display, white indicates that either the MCB part was "tripped" or that it was switched off. It is compatible with busbars. A twin-purpose terminal (lift/open-mouthed) is available for easy and quick mounting.

IEC Standard quality design

Eaton´s RCBOs adhere to IEC / EN 61009 – a standard covering residual current operated circuit-breakers with integral overcurrent protection (RCBOs) for fixed installation up to 125 A.
All requirements of the product standards are fulfilled and the applicable additional standards are printed on the device itself.

Suitable RCD/MCB types for all contingencies

  • Type A: Protects against special forms of residual pulsating DC which have not been smoothed.
  • Type -Super A: High reliability against unwanted tripping. Compulsory for any circuit where personal injury or damage to property may occur in the event of unwanted tripping.
  • Type AC: This type only reliably detects AC fault currents.
  • Type G: High reliability against unwanted tripping. Compulsory for any circuit where personal injury or damage to property may occur in the event of unwanted tripping.
  • Type F: Higher load rating with DC residual currents up to 10 mA. Increased protection in applications with 1-phase frequency converter due to the detection of mixed frequencies up to 1 kHz.

Type F for industrial applications and machinery

Machines outages are costly and troubleshooting can be problematic. Often the reason can be that modern machines have modern loads built into them. Mains filters can cause disturbances to the incoming line and can change the behaviour of the RCD in series. More often, loads have single phase inverters built in. High frequency and extended DC immunity incorporated in a protection device, which is also high surge current proof, enables the next generation of machines to be safe above the levels stipulated by the standard.
