Ruff-IN™ is our extensive portfolio of innovative, prefabricated in-wall and overhead electrical assemblies. 

Ruff-IN Engineered-to-Order (ETO) solutions deliver a total prefabricated branch wiring system custom-produced with Eaton's Crouse-Hinds series components, labeled, packaged by room and floor, and delivered to your exact location.

Our experienced engineering team will work with you to plan and design the exact requirements for your next big project. We’ll provide:

What's included in a Ruff-IN Engineered-to-Order (ETO) project?

From customized take-offs, proposals, and kick-off meetings through engineering drawings, status meetings, and customized packaging & labeling, the focus is on delivering a turn-key solution that will drive job site productivity and help make your job a better job - faster, easier, safer and more profitable.

1.  Project takeoff, quote and scope review

Our team will meet with you to discuss your project in detail, including the project scope, any special requirements or product preferences, and delivery timelines.  Our team will use this information, along with a count of all the rough-in locations across the project, to develop and deliver the project takoff.

Our takeoff package includes the following:

  • A complete bill of material listing the recommended Ruff-IN assemblies and components to be included in the prefab package.
  • A detailed takeoff drawing that correleates to the takeoff summary BOM.
  • A comprehensive project quotation covering the required material and engineering to deliver a fully engineered prefab solution.

2.  Kickoff meeting and product submittals

Our Ruff-IN Project Manager, Sales lead, and Engineering team will meet with you and your Distributor Rep to review the project scope, logistics and intial action items.  We'll work with you to confirm the required devices and provide product submittals for all parts and pieces included in the assemblies.

3.  Engineering Drawing Package

Our Engineering team will provide customized drawings to improve job site layout and provide a comprehensive point- to-point connection data for faster, easier installation and elimination of field engineering.  The drawing package includes:

  • Floor plan with typical device layout
  • 3D Isometric drawing showing how cable will be routed through the unit
  • Device matrix providing specific info about each assembly
  • Quantity Take Off (QTO) assembly list
  • One line diagram indicating what each device connects to
  • Title block with information on the wiring devices

Additionally, our Engineering team will review all construction documents and identify coordination or code-related issues, passing them along to the Electrical Contractor for submission of an RFI.  We'll help you resolve those coordination and inspector headaches before they become a problem in the field!

4.  Project management & local sales support

Once we receive drawing sign-off, production of Ruff-IN assemblies begins.  You'll receive dedicated factory project management, along with local sales support and expertise every step of the way.

Communication is critical for success throughout the project, and we understand that unexpected changes happen.  That's why our Ruff-IN assemblies are built progressively so that changes can be quickly and easily incorporated, typically 2-3 weeks after identification.

5.  Customized packaging and labeling

Ruff-IN material is palletized by floor and cartons are are labeled by unit or area, greatly simplifying job site receiving and handling.  Ergonomically designed boxes help eliminate the need for special equipment and help reduce material handling risks.

Customized product labels and drawings improve job site layout and provide comprehensive point-to-point connection data for faster installation and elimination of  time-consuming “field engineering”.
