Expanders for intruder alarm systems

Realise the full potential of your security system by using an expander to unlock additional zones; the Scantronic expander range enables increases of up to 30 zones, providing a simple and cost-effective way to extend your existing installations to larger areas. Designed for flexibility, wired and wireless options are available, with and without power supplies. The EXP-2R and EXP-2R-MULTI modules are designed for Grade 2 installations, whilst the EXP-W10 and EXP-PSU series are approved for use with a Grade 2 or 3 alarm system.

For ease of installation, all expanders benefit from full diagnostics and fault reporting via the data bus, as well as a ‘locate device’ feature which utilises an on-board sounder.

The EXP-2R-MULTI is a flexible, multi-functional device with three unique and innovative modes (Hybrid expander, Standalone radio receiver, and Linked transceiver) that can solve challenges and introduce solutions optimizing a wide range of installations.

Simple to Install

All expanders feature a one-push semi-auto addressing system, ensuring each device has a unique address. This eliminates addressing errors and removes the need for links, speeding up installation.

Choosing your Power Supply Unit is as Easy as 1,2,3

The EXP-PSU-SM is in the small metal enclosure with a 1 Amp power supply. The EXP-PSU-MM is in the medium metal enclosure with a 2 Amp power supply. The EXP-PSU-LM is in the largest metal enclosure with a 3 Amp power supply.

Wireless Security Expanders

The EXP-2R and EXP-2R-MULTI are designed for Grade 2 installation. These wireless expanders can also provide wireless radio hold up alarm (HUA) functionality in Grade 3 installations.

Installation Flexibility

All PSU expanders have ten zones on board and are suitable for two and four wire CC compatibility as well as a range of FSL values. Diagnostic information such as battery voltage, current draw and mains status is transmitted back to the panel on the data bus saving output wiring & programming.
